3. # Seaview 180° Snorkel Mask

Average Rank:  4.2 out of 5

I start with the Seaview 180 because this mask offers the most impressive field of view in the water.

The old version of Seaview once had a rounded lens which gave some kind of deformation of images. This is the reason Wildhorn made a new version with a flat lens today.

The skirt is made of silicone, providing a soft seal around the face. No doubt about it, with the Seaview 180, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world like you never did with a traditional mask.

The Seaview 180 feature a double airflow system that prevents the mask from fogging and also allows you to breathe naturally. Speaking underwater won’t be a problem anymore!

The Seaview comes with a detachable dry snorkel that can be fixed quickly on the mask. There is a small valve on the top of the tube that stops the water from getting inside if a wave passes over the snorkel or if it’s submerged.

This feature is fantastic as it lets you swim comfortably long distances without swallowing saltwater while snorkeling. Another great thing about the Seaview 180 is that it comes with a GoPro Mount to take pictures of the sea world.

Pros
  • Provide a wide field of view
  • Very comfortable
  • Its flat panel doesn’t create distortion
  • Easy to talk inside
Cons
  • The snorkel piece could be longer.

5. # Ocean Reef Aria Full Face Mask

Average Rank:  4.4 out of 5

It’s quite difficult to compare the full-face masks because they all have the same appearance. But when you pay close attention, there are a few differences, though. Not that they are so important, but these can sometimes have a good or bad impact on your snorkeling experience if you don’t know about them.

However, what differentiates the Ocean Reef from other masks is that it offers the possibility to wear optical glasses inside the mask, while the other brands don’t have this option. Ocean Reef Company has created lenses without arms that fit the mask perfectly. It is a big plus for snorkelers who need to wear optical glasses and don’t want to use contact lenses while snorkeling.

The Ocean Reef does not come with a Go Pro Mount. So, if you want to take some pictures, you will need to order this feature separately.

Pros

  • Comes in many colors
  • Come in many sizes
  • The snorkel is easy to take on and off
  • Extremely comfortable
  • Doesn’t leak
Cons
  • A bit expensive

12#.Vista Vue Full Face Snorkeling Mask

Average Rank:  4.2 out of 5

The Deep Blue Gear Vista Vue Is a high-quality full-face mask designed by two professional divers with over 50 years of experience in the diving industry. So this full-face mask must be something exceptional.

The Vista works a little differently than other masks. The exhaled air gets out through the purge valves placed on the sides instead of circulating inside. This prevents you from rebreathing carbon dioxide (CO2) and allows you to enjoy your snorkeling trip without worrying about your breathing.

Although this mask does an excellent job keeping water out if water gets inside, which can happen, especially if hairs get trapped between the skirt and skin, just by covering the two side vents with your hands and blowing out, water will get out!

The straps are stretchable and adjustable, making it easy to get the mask on and off and adjust it to the size you want. Its crystal silicone skirt is soft and smooth, creating an excellent seal around the face.

Additionally, it features a detachable snorkel tube with multi-purge valve technology that blocks water from entering inside. So when you swim on the surface of the water, you can breathe in and out easily as you would normally do.

Since air continuously circulates through the mask’s inner lens, it reduces fogging significantly. Not entirely because all masks fog a little, but most of it.

The Vista mask comes in various sizes and colors, giving you plenty of options to fit all types of faces and swimsuit colors!

Pros

  • Easy to purge water out
  • Flat lens – allows you to see things as they are in the water.

Guide to Buying a Full-Face Snorkel Mask

Can I Wear Optical Glasses Inside The Mask?

Wearing optical glasses with a full face mask is not a good idea because the arm would break the seal of the mask. The best alternative is to wear contact lenses. As I’ve mentioned above, Ocean Reef Aria Company has made optical glasses that don’t feature arms so that snorkellers can see clearly in the water while snorkeling.

How To Deal With Beard And Hair

If a beard or hair sits between the skirt and the face, chances are it will break the seal of the mask. It is usually recommended to shave a small part of the beard that passes over the skirt and attach the hair with an elastic. A mustache won’t cause any issue to the seal as it doesn’t reach the skirt. Well, if the mustache is not too long, of course:)

What Not To Do With Full Face Masks

All full-face mask lenses are made of polycarbonate. It is a strong material but quite susceptible to scratches. So a good suggestion is to keep it away from the sand as much as possible.

Many snorkelers dive down with their full face mask, but then they complain that the mask becomes uncomfortable on their face. No wonder these are not designed for freediving or spearfishing. Also, it is impossible to reach the nose to equalize the pressure in the ears.

Make sure your snorkel is in a vertical position because if you keep it in a horizontal position, the small valve will not close if water gets inside the tube.

When is the Best Time to Use a Full Face Mask

There is no best time for swimming with a full face mask. Obviously, if you go on holiday, you would want to use it when the sea is calm and when the weather is pleasant. So summer would be the best time for this. You may want to use your mask in an indoor swimming pool where good weather is not needed. So you can wear your full face mask whenever you feel like it!

How To Prevent The Mask From Leaking

First, you need to make sure that the mask fits well to your face. If the mask doesn’t seal the face properly, then it will leak. Therefore, it is crucial to choose the right size.

Make sure that any hair, including beard, doesn’t sit between the skirt and the skin.

All full-face masks feature a small valve at the bottom of the mask that drains the water out. So if, for whatever reason, water gets inside the mask, the only thing you have to do is to raise your head up, and the water will flow downward.

From What Age Can You Start Wearing A Full Face Mask

Certain full face masks can be used from 4 years old, depending on the model and the size. Some brands provide kids’ sizes. Just make sure the mask seals well and that it isn’t too heavy!

How to Get the Right Fit

No matter the mask, the method for measuring remains the same. You need to take the dimension from the bridge of your nose to the end of your chin with your mouth closed.

  • Under 10 Cm = XS
  • Under 12 cm = S/M
  • Greater than 12 cm = M/L
  • Greater than 13 cm = L/XL

Why Buy A Full Face Mask

There are two reasons why you should wear a full face mask. First, because there is no need to worry about the technical stuff. This means you don’t have to clear the mask and purge the water from the snorkel each time water gets into the tube. And secondly, you can finally breathe through your nose and mouth while snorkeling, which is wonderful.

Who Is The Full Face Mask For

Children, like adults, find it hard to use a traditional mask and snorkel in the water. Most of the time, the mask fogs up, or water gets inside the tube, which usually leads to an unpleasant snorkeling trip. This is why the full face masks are fantastic; everyone can breathe normally and can have an enjoyable snorkeling experience.

How To Care For The Full Face Mask

Since the glasses are made of stiff plastic (Polycarbonate), it is not recommended to put toothpaste on the lens because it may scratch them.

To clean the mask, just wash it with dish soap and rinse it with clear water after each use. Then, let it dry without using any rag to avoid scratching the lens. When it is completely dried, store it in the mesh bag that comes with it.

Advantages of Using a Full Face Mask

  • Don’t need to clear the mask of water and purge the snorkel
  • Allows to breathe comfortably from the nose and mouth while snorkeling.
  • Fantastic for children and snorkeler beginners
  • Offer remarkable unobstructed field of view
  • Since the dry snorkel is detachable, the mask can be packed easily in a suitcase.
  • There is no need to bite on a snorkel piece

Disadvantages of Using a Full Face Mask

  • Can not be used for free diving, spearfishing, or fast swimming.
  • GoPro is useless without using an extension on the mask
  • Polycarbonate lens scratches easily

What Full Face Mask To Choose

Well, this will depend on your personal preference. If you are looking for a high-quality full-face mask that is relatively cheap, then the Octobermoon will be perfect. If you need a mask that allows you to wear optical lenses, then the Ocean Reef Aria is the one you should opt for.
If weight is a concern for you, then you should go for the Tribord Easybreath. If you want a Gro Pro to be included in the mask, then don’t look further than the Sea View.

Final Words!

What is important when choosing a full-face mask is that you feel comfortable in it while snorkeling. You can not go wrong with the full-face masks that are listed in this article, as they are the most popular and the best-rated on the market. So don’t hesitate to pick the one that is the best match for you!

  1. Wow, these look great. I have snorkeled and had all the problems you mention. It gets really frustrating especially since I have very thick, curly hair. Every time I have to re- position my mask or take it off it messes up my hair even more and pretty soon my hair is going everywhere I am I trying to keep it out of the way. It would be nice to not need to mess with it and just enjoy the view!

I don’t get to the ocean for swimming very often but next time I do I will remember what you explained here and think about getting one of these masks.

Long hair can be annoying when snorkeling with any snorkel mask. Whether it is with a traditional or a full face mask, you need to attach your hair. It is a must if you want to have a pleasant snorkeling experience.

  3. I really liked this website. I love to snorkel, but I always had the same trouble sith my mask fogging up and water getting into it. Also, it is harder to go underwater without getting water in your mouth. This made look at the Amazon site to see about purchasing one. I am very intrigued.

    • Hi Corinne,

Yes, swallowing water and  the mask fogging up is what snorkelers encounter the most and that is why they usually give up on their snorkeling excursion, which is a shame! Today, many people use the full face mask not only for snorkeling in the sea but also for swimming in the pool.

  4. Wow I never been snorkeling before cause of the old style gear. I do believe I’ll have to get one of those new full faced masks for my next vacation.
Thank you for the comparison on them really helpful.
Also you made it so easy for me to purchase one with the Amazon links.

There are so many beautiful creature sea in the ocean, it would be a shame to miss this!

  5. I have no idea about snorkels nor have a slightest interest on diving underwater but after reading your blog it has sparked a new interest in me 🙂 2 months from now I will be having a 2 weeks break and since there’s nothing for me to do but to enjoy my break, I would probably purchase one of your recommended snorkels and first try it on a pool just so I can practice it before trying it in the sea. Thanks for this informative blog post 🙂

It’s great to read that my article has inspired you to go snorkeling:) I am happy about this!

Yep, snorkeling is the best way to go for your two weeks break, especially if you are on vacation!

If you’ve never snorkeled before, then it would be better to try it first in a swimming pool so that you can get used to the mask. And when you get comfortable with it, you can definitely snorkel in the sea. Many people wear the full face masks today because it is much more easier to use than a traditional snorkel mask.

  7. Hi, thanks for the review! I love snorkeling but this is my first time hearing a full face mask to be honest. I certainly love its feature that you mention but how does it have anti-fog design? Does that mean I do not need to clear the mask at all because it does not fog up? That sounds like a great idea!
Will certainly check this out in the future! Cheers.

    Reply
    • Hi Susan,

Yes, the full face mask features an anti fog system, meaning there is a fan that circulates the air that you exhale and inhale in the mask. That’s what prevents the mask from fogging! If water gets inside the mask, you will need to take the water off, but not the same way as you would with a traditional mask. The full face mask has a small valve at the bottom of the mask to drain water. If water gets inside, you just have to raise your head up, and the water will get out easily!

I hope it helped and if you need to know more information, please, don’t hesitated to contact me. I am always happy to help!

  8. I went snorkeling recently on the Great Barrier Reef off of the coast of Australia, and the masks they gave us were not that good. Of course, I had never been snorkeling before and this was a scary experience, (scarier than skydiving the next day) but I adapted.
I can tell from your review that I would have preferred the SeaView mask, as it seems to be the most comfortable, as well as able to mount a go pro.
I hope to go snorkeling again sometime soon, and if I can live in a place where I do it often, I will get that mask!

    • Hi Christopher,

Australia is beautiful. You surely had a good time there:)
The snorkeling equipment provided by the organized trip company are usually not new. Either the masks have leakage problem or the snorkels are not clean. That is why I usually bring my own snorkel gear when I go snorkeling. I am very picky about this. All the masks listed in the article are of high quality, it is just that the Seaview 180 comes with a GoPro while others don’t.
If you are a beginner and swallow a lot of water, then you should consider buying a full face mask. You won’t be disappointed!
Thank you for the comment and wish you a great day!

  9. I almost drowned wearing one of these masks. IF the ball in the valve of the snorkel becomes stuck (mine did with tiny grains of sand/shell that was in the water which washed over my snorkel), you CANNOT clear the snorkel. You can’t blow out the snorkel the way you would with a traditional snorkel because you are just breathing into a large cavity of the mask. And when you inevitably breathe in, the mask just suctions onto your face! I will never wear one of these masks again.

    • Hi Brian,

Sorry to hear what happened to you, it must have been a bad experience!

I did happen to me too, I’ve almost drowned, but with a traditional mask.

I got into a panic, and I start to swallow water. I was lucky that my friend saw me from the beach. She jumped in the water and caught me very quickly. She saved my life! I didn’t snorkel for a long time until I got over my fears, thanks to a good therapy I went through.

However, what I want to tell you is that accident can happen with anything in life. There are clear instructions on how to use the full face masks, not only in my guide but also when you buy the mask.

My children and I use a full face mask, and we enjoy it very much. You just need to know how to use it correctly, the same applies with a traditional mask!

I hope you will be OK after this unpleasant experience and that you won’t give up snorkeling!

Thank you very much for having shared your experience, I really appreciate!

  10. Oh how I wish I had access to one of these masks while snorkelling in Mexico. It was such a lovely experience but, as your blog suggests, I was struggling with my mask fogging up and missed some of the incredible scenery. Do you know if rental places in vacation destinations are now using these, or at least providing them as an option? Thanks for posting!

    • Hi Randene,

Mexico is a beautiful spot to snorkel. I’m sure you had a good time there:)
Yes, fogging masks are the main problem snorkelers face while snorkeling.
As I’ve mentioned in the precedent comment, all snorkel masks have fogging problems, even the full face masks, but much less than the traditional masks, thanks to its separated breathing chamber.
However, to answer your question about renting these masks. Yes, many places rent them but bear in mind that rental places usually charge quite a lot. The price to rent mask is almost the same as a brand new mask. One of my friends has rented a mask in Hawaii, more precisely in Kapaa Beach. She paid around $20 for 24 hours, which is almost half of the price of a new one and it’s not hers! I never rent snorkeling gear because I am quite picky.
Anyway, this is something you may consider for your next snorkeling trip:)

    • Hi Brendon,

To be honest with you, so far I still didn’t see a snorkel mask that doesn’t fog. All masks do! There are many reasons why a mask gets foggy. I won’t get into it in this comment because it could be way too long:) However, I’ve written an article about preventing snorkel mask fogging. If you feel like it, you can take a look. The full face masks possess a separated breathing chamber with a fan that circulates the exhaled air in the mask, which reduces the fogging problem but doesn’t eliminate it completely. You will still have to pre treat your full face mask like you do with a traditional mask. As for the quality, it depends on what snorkel mask you use. There are plenty of traditional masks of high quality. Some of them are made with tempered glasses and some with plastic lenses. As I have mentioned in the article, full face masks lens are made of polycarbonate and the mask itself of polypropylene. Both materials are high quality and durable. The only downside of the polycarbonate is that is extremely susceptible to scratching. Otherwise, these masks are fantastic! Even advanced snorkelers use these masks. There is a reason for this:) However, everyone has different taste, thank God:)

I hope it helped and, please, if you need to know more information, don’t hesitate to contact me. I will be more than happy to help!

  13. Masks certainly appear to have come a long way.
I am looking to buy a mask to take to the Bahamas this winter when I visit a friend who has older style masks.
We snorkel quite a bit each year when I am there, and no matter which one of theirs I try it always leaks like sieve – so I am continuously dumping water out thus making the experience less enjoyable.
So, is it the shape of my head possibly (I do have a big head), or does one of these masks perform better in this regard than others, or is it still an aspect not yet perfected?
    Thanks!

    • Hi James,

The Bahamas is a beautiful place to visit. I have plenty of articles about this island! Just a small advice. The Bahamas is very expensive, so you better buy your snorkeling gear before you go. Yes, the most frequent problems that snorkelers encounter is leaking masks.
You’ve probably picked the wrong size if your mask is leaking. Of course, there are many other reasons for this, and you better check before you go snorkeling.
      Here are some of them:
Hair, beard, and mustache can break the seal
Maybe the mask has a defect from the manufacturer.
The material of the skirt is essential. Some materials like rubber or PVC are low quality. You are better off with silicone!
Or it can also be the wrong strap placement. You must place the straps on the crown portion of your head.
However, full face masks are ideal for people who struggle with traditional masks and not because of leaking problem. If you buy a full face mask and you chose the wrong size, chances are your mask will leak.
I hope it helped and if you need to know more info, feel free to contact me. I am always happy to help!

Your reviews have helped me because I have been interested in getting a full face mask but worry about fogging. I think the Octobermoon would be the best for me due to the separate breathing chamber. Do the other 3 masks have issues with fogging since they don’t have the separate chamber?

    • Hi Amy,

You are very welcome. It’s a real pleasure!

To be honest, all snorkel masks fog up. It is rare to see a mask that doesn’t have any fogging problem:). Full face masks have less fogging issues than traditional masks as they have a separate breathing chamber that circulates the air in the mask. By the way, every full face mask feature a breathing chamber, I think you’ve missed some reading:)  However, this air flow system prevents your mask from fogging, but, it doesn’t eliminate it completely. There are several reasons why masks fog up. Here is a useful article about this subject.

I hope it helped and if you need to know more details about the full face masks, let me know:) I am always happy to help!

The Tribord is the first full face mask that was created, and it is without a doubt a high-quality mask. To answer your question, it depends on what you look for. All the full face masks listed in this article are best rated and the most popular you can find on the market today. What I like about the Easybreath is that it is lightweight, making it easy to pack and to bring. Apart from this, they all have the same features and look very much alike.

  16. This is a great list of snorkel face masks! I have actually not snorkeled in many years, because well, I just had a really bad experience. My son and I are going on a snorkel tour here in Clearwater Beach to the fort, and I am not going to use the snorkel gear provided by the tour company, LOL So I have been looking for one that we can both get for this tour and future use. We live near the beach, so it is something that we have been wanting. I would have so much more fun with a full face snorkel, and I didn’t even know there was such a thing! I like the Tribord Easybreath Full Face Mask, simply because of the 2-year warranty, and that it is so lightweight. Your overview of the reviews is really a nice touch, and I see that the snorkel I am interested in, is the best one reviewed. Great review, I am definitely going to head over to the buy link for this mask. I need to look any further!

I’ve also had a bad snorkeling experience in the past, but I’ve overcome my fear of water with some therapies. I didn’t want to give up on the beautiful underwater world since I live near the sea. I did snorkel again with a traditional mask just to get rid of the trauma. However, today I often use a full face mask for snorkeling and a traditional mask for diving. Yes, I dive today, and I am not afraid:) The Easybreath is a fantastic mask, one of my children use it, and she loves it! I wear the Ocean Reef Aria because I needed to wear optical glasses inside the mask and this one fits me well! But yes, the Easybreath is one of the most popular and even the best rated! You have great taste!

The marine life in Hawaii is spectacular, no wonder it is one of the most popular snorkel spots in the world!
To answer your question, it depends on how fast your kids grow up:). They may grow up with a full face mask for a year or two maybe. Be aware, though that once the mask becomes too small, it won’t seal the face properly anymore and this will lead to leakage problem. So pay attention to this!

You can wear a flotation jacket if you are a non-swimmer. It will help you float on the surface and allow you to enjoy your snorkeling excursion. Even good swimmers wear a floatation jacket just for the pleasure of floating and relax while snorkeling. The Seaview DOES sound great. We already have a GoPro, so the fact that it’s all ready for attaching is awesome.

Do you know if there’ll be any issues with men who have a goatee, or a beard? I know with regular goggles this is often an issue around the mustache area…

Looks like I may have a new mask soon. Thanks for the info!

It’s the first time today that hear about the Castaway Cay, and it must be a fantastic place for snorkeling:)
Yes, the Seaview is a great mask, and it comes with GoPro mount. So you can definitely user yours, no problem! It depends on the length of your goatee. Let’s say, if your beard sits between the skirt of the mask and your skin, this will probably cause a leakage problem. But you can avoid this by shaving a small part of your beard. That’s what most people who have a beard do! A mustache doesn’t interfere with the seal of the mask as it usually sits in the mask.

I hope it helped:) Let me know if you need to know more info, I’ll be more than happy to assist!

I really liked your recommendation of the snorkel mask and I’m considering getting the seaview because I have a gopro and I think it would be really cool filming with it.

Leaking and fogging masks are the major problem snorkelers encounter. It is practically impossible to enjoy when there is a need to defog or remove the water from the mask in the middle of your underwater adventure:)
To answer your question, the first thing I look in snorkel mask is the seal of the mask since it is what will influence the quality of my snorkeling excursion. If the mask is too small or too big, it will cause a leaking and fogging problem. The quality of the material is also an important detail not to overlook. When buying a traditional mask, I always go for the silicone one because it’s soft and durable. But with full face masks, you can not go wrong as most of them, at least those listed on the article, are made of polypropylene which is a durable material and resists to shock. And not to mention, there is a silicone skirt that seals the face incredibly well. So, what really matters is that you choose the right size!

I bought the Seaview for my husband, the Tribord for my children and the Ocean Reef Arial for me as I am nearsighted:) The Tribord doesn’t come in children size, but the extra small may fit him. 25. Hi There!

This was a very helpful and informative review of these full face snorkel masks! I’ve seen these in use a couple times and was honestly curious to know how they actually work.

My current mask fogs up way too easily, so I like the fact that most of these masks come with the double air flow system. I also like the fact that some come with a valve that keeps salt water out when a wave comes over you.

Do you know if this feature works when you dive for a closer look at the sea floor? There’s nothing worse than a mouth full of salt water when you’re not expecting it!

    Thanks!

    •   Hi Tucker,

Most snorkelers have fogging problems with their masks. Even the full face mask can fog, the double air chamber help reduce the fogging issue, but it doesn’t stop it totally, which by the way, I mentioned in the article:).
The dry snorkel works fantastically in a vertical position on the surface of the water, but it won’t work either in a horizontal position nor if you dive with it. In fact, full face masks are not designed for diving or spearfishing, but only for snorkeling on the surface and at a slow speed. You should be aware of this!

I hope it helped. Please, let me know if you need to know further information.

    • Hi Furkan,

The Octobermoon is a great full face mask; you’ll love it!
There are specific rules you must follow with this type of mask for a safety reason. For example, these masks aren’t designed for freediving or spearfishing. You can only snorkel on the surface of the water. You should always swim at a slow speed so that you don’t get out of breath in the mask. And the last thing is you should keep your snorkel tube in a vertical position. The valve won’t work if it is in a horizontal position.

That’s all! And everyone who buys a full face mask should respect those instructions. Otherwise, it could lead to an unpleasant snorkeling trip!

I hope it helped. Please let me know if you need to know further info. I’ll be more than happy to help!

If you are a beginner snorkeler, then you should definitely try a full face mask. It will allow you to have a pleasant underwater excursion which is really important when you just start out. You want to have the best experience ever!

Thank you for the comment and wish you a great day!

  29. I love your guide to buying a snorkel mask. I’m interested in scuba diving so I would be considered a curious beginner. I found it very interesting that you mentioned Ocean Reef Aria Company. My husband wears eye glasses so that would be something for us to look into.

It’s funny that you mentioned the uncomfortable snorkel fit because you’re right I do see many divers…dive face down with their mask on. Do you know what mask is used for free diving?  Are diving masks and diving snorkels the same thing?

    • Hi Lakisha,

Yes, I agree, many people dive down with their full face mask, and it’s a mistake. Full face masks are designed for swimming on the surface of the water, not for diving.

To answer your question, for freediving, the low-volume snorkel masks are best because they sit very close to the face and prevent air from getting inside, making it easy to equalize at depth. Diving masks and snorkeling masks are different. A diving mask can be used for snorkeling, but a snorkeling mask can’t be used for diving, only for swimming on the surface.

I hope it helped. Please let me know if you need more help. I’ll be more than happy to assist.

Thank you for the comment and I wish you a lovely day!

  30. I live in the Philippines with my wife and living here means that going to beaches is a regular thing, finding a good quality snorkel mask or just plain goggles isn’t always that easy, I have always had issues with keeping water from entering my mask. The Ocean Reef Aria mask looks pretty cool and seems to have a very good rating. it comes in different sizes and colors and the best part is that it doesn’t leak. It is a little pricey but paying for good quality is only normal, definitely one to consider. Take care!

    • Hi Jean,

I love the Philippines. It’s a beautiful place to stay:) With such an amazing undersea world, you must have a good snorkel mask to see all the beauty down there. All masks leak and fog, but at a certain level. Those snorkel masks on the list are of excellent quality and clear water exceptionally well, providing excellent clarity in the water. However, know that you will have to use an anti-fog gel or split on the lens if you don’t mind.

The Ocean Reef is definitely a great choice; many other people love it too.

  31. Hello,

I don’t swim myself, so I’ve read it because my friend does like swimming a lot and thinking about snorkeling. And it is actually a good idea of the present for someone who likes snorkeling. The variety you have presented here is absolutely great. Sure there is one for everyone. Thank you for explaining all the pros and cons for them too.

Which of these masks would you recommend for the beginner?

  32. Hi Daniella

This is very informative! I used to snorkel but the zeal just faded away. Reading your article reminded me why most people quit snorkeling. Most of them used to swallow water with their masks fogging. Now I understand why getting yourself a quality mask is important. Not only for the experience but also for safety reasons as well. I’d love to have a clear 180 view of the ocean on one of those.

Thank you for this information. I will definitely share your article with my friends!

    All the best,

    • Hi Sergej,

Unfortunately, many people don’t want to go snorkeling because of the mask, which is shameful. It happened to me once. It took a while until I went back to snorkeling. So it’s imperative to get a mask that fits and, most importantly, that you feel comfortable with, whether a full face mask or traditional mask.

I am glad you enjoyed the reading.

  33. Hi,

Your page looks great, the snorkle masks review is well put together and well informed, I would prefer the The WildHorn Outfitters Seaview V2 Full Face Snorkel Mask because I like the fact that it maintains safe levels of CO2, I don’t like feeling like I’m not able to breath properly.

My second choice would be the Ocean Reef  as it offers the opportunity to wear your glasses while wearing it, it is very important for the people who need to keep their glasses on at all times.

It sounds great that the Seaview 180 was upgraded as from what you describe it’s a lot better now, and of course, if you go under water, you want to see everything with a clear view and I love the fact that it allows for picture taking, great.

The Octobermoon having lens made of polycarbonate for safety as great as we all appreciate having our eyes protected, and It also having a separate breathing chamber to help eliminating the fogging problem is a good asset, this one will be liked by a high number of buyers due to its safety material and also being less cost affective.

OUSPT Full Face Snorkel Mask being made from medical-grade silicone and non-toxic material, environmentally friendly is pretty imprecise, definitely very important to protect sea life.

All in all, I enjoyed reading through your reviews, well put together and well explained, I am not an expert but I sincerely liked it and I could not have done a better job myself.

Well done, keep up the good work.

    Idalina.
