kastking Dry Bag Waterproof Roll Top Sack – Should You Buy It?

Whether you plan to do water sports or outdoor activities, you know that you need a waterproof and durable bag to keep all your belongings safe and dry.

Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. Right?

But the thing is, there are many types of bags, and this may make it a bit more difficult to choose the one that suits you best.

However, for your outdoor activities,  you want a bag that is made of a rugged material so it won’t tear apart while on the go and also that has a high level of waterproofness to prevent water from penetrating inside your bag.

The Kastking dry bag waterproof roll-top sack not only fulfills all these criteria, but it also has something more that other dry bags do not have!

What is the Kastking Dry Bag?

As its name suggests it, the Kastking is a roll-top sack that closes by rolling the top a few times to ensure that even a drop of water won’t penetrate inside. This bag is designed for keeping all your belongings safe while you enjoy your water sport or outdoor activity.

Features

Material

The Kastking is made of 500D PVC material and lined with vinyl fabric for more protection. Since this bag is sturdy and waterproof, it is designed mainly for sailing, kayaking, fishing, camping, and canoes, to name a few. It also has a transparent window on the front, allowing you to see your belongings and find what you need very quickly without having to search for hours.

Closure System

The Kastking features a double overlap roll-top closure that enables you to open and close the bag with ease so you can pack your gear comfortably. What is nice about this bag is that once it is rolled up and closed correctly, you can be sure that no water, dirt, or sand will get inside!

Portability

The Kastking features an adjustable shoulder strap with two clips at each extremity that enables you to attach or remove it from the bag as well as to secure it to your kayak or boat so you don’t lose it. It also helps you carry the bag and move it from one place to another. The only downside of this bag is that the strap is not padded, and it can become a bit uncomfortable if you walk long distances.

Colors

The Kastking is available in four different colors: blue, orange, yellow, and black. Light colors are the most popular since they are easy to spot in the dark or from a distance.

Size and Weight

As you may guess, the size is crucial when choosing your bag because you don’t want to end up with a smaller or bigger size than you expected. Also, you need to know how many items you’ll be able to store. However, the Kastking comes in three different sizes and weights.

10 L: 7.9 × 19.7 in / Weight: 12.5 oz / 0.78 lb = 1 day trip
20 L: 9.5 × 25.2 in / Weight: 16.4 oz / 1.25 lb = Weekend Trip
30 L: 10.2 × 27.2 in /Weight: 21.4 oz/ 1.33 lb = Week trip

Warranty

This bag comes with a one-year warranty, which gives you plenty of time to return it if something goes wrong with the bag.

How to Seal the Kastking?

It’s simple, but you need to do it the right way because if you don’t, chances are, water will get inside. However, once you have filled out your bag to three-quarters full, just roll the top two to three times by pressing on the bag. Make sure there aren’t any wrinkles while you tighten it, then secure the two ends with the buckles. And voila, you have a waterproof bag ready to go!

How to Care for the Kastking

You would agree that washing your bag in the machine wouldn’t be a good idea. So if you want to keep it for an extended period, you need to clean it after each use with lukewarm water, gentle soap, and a rag. Also, make sure to aerate it to prevent bad odor and moisture.

Where to Use the Kastking

This bag is designed for extreme outdoor adventures such as camping, fishing, backpacking, hiking, snorkeling, sailing, and more. As I mentioned above, the Kastking bag is sturdy, waterproof, lightweight, and spacious enough to store anything you wish to protect wherever you go!

Is The Kastking Submersible?

If your bag falls out of your boat or kayak, it will, without a doubt, float on the surface of the water. Like all dry bags, the Kastking has a high-capacity flotation, and you can even use it as a flotation device, not instead, of course. Just be aware that if you submerge it underwater, your bag might leak. No matter the brand or the quality, no dry bags are designed to be flooded. It is important that you know this!

Who is the Kastking For?

It is for anyone who wants to enjoy water activities without having to worry about their stuff getting wet in the middle of their excursion. So if you want a worry-free trip, the Kastking bag is undoubtedly for you! Even children can use this bag to go to the scouting the pool, or the gym club. Sailors really appreciate the Kastking as it has all the features needed to protect their clothes and electronic items. In other words, it’s the perfect bag for your water sports and outdoor trips!

Why Should You Buy the Kastking?

If you are like most people and like me, you would want all your belongings to be saved no matter where you go or what you do. Whether it is to carry expensive or inexpensive items, you can be sure that the Kastking will keep everything dry while you enjoy your trip! Also, this bag is extremely versatile. You can use it as a pillow as well as a flotation device and a cooler. YES.. as a cooler! Well, it won’t keep your ice frozen for days, of course, but it will indeed be for a few hours.

As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, the Kastiking has something more than other dry bags do not have: a window on the front so you can see your gear inside and grab what you need quickly, which saves you plenty of time. This bag is waterproof, durable, and will, without a doubt withstand any extreme outdoor adventures thanks to its heavy-duty construction. 3. Hi Daniella, thank you for a complete description and review of the Kastking dry bag. I wish I had one of these a few years back when a few buddies and I went white water rafting. It was a half-day trip and we were told to bring lunch with us. We had what we were told was a waterproof bag. We secured it to the raft with some rope. You are probably aware, with whitewater, it’s not a matter of if you will get wet.

When we stopped to eat, our sandwiches were soaked. River water is not the tastiest thing in the world. We were so hungry, we ate the sandwiches anyway.

I am thinking about buying a kayak. I will definitely look into getting a Kastking bag to go with it.

    • Hi Joe,

Unfortunately, many people go through the same experience. Were you using a dry bag “Roll Top” or a traditional closure system? I ask you this question because the closure type plays a big role in the waterproofness level of the bag.

Well, I’ve never had the opportunity to eat wet sandwiches thank God:) I am sure it wasn’t that tasty:)

The Kasking is a great bag, I am sure he won’t let you down in the middle of your trip!

Thank you for the comment and wish you a fantastic day!

  4. I really liked that you provided sizing information since it is quite vital to get the right size. However I am just a newbie and does every brand have the same sizing requirements? By the way I live in Europe and may get this from a brand which is not really popular.

    • Hi Furkan,

I am glad you found the article useful.
Well, I would say that it would be best to get the right size, of course. But even if you get a bigger size, you can always roll it down to the size you want it to be. Now if the bag is smaller than you expected, then this could be annoying. When choosing a dry bag, it’s important to know what you plan to bring with you and what you plan to do too. That way you can have an idea of what size to choose for your adventure. Usually, popular brands offer high-quality bags, but it’s not always the case. You can undoubtedly get an excellent dry bag from an unknown brand. Always check the material stiffness on the label prior to anything else.

I hope it helps! Please, don’t hesitate to contact me with any question. I’ll be more than happy to assist!

Thank you for the comment and wish you a great day!
