Inflatable towables have become a popular choice among beachgoers who enjoy the thrill of being towed around and experiencing the water splash firsthand. The good thing about these water toys is that anyone can get on board and enjoy the ride, whether children or adults.
And among the towable that are doing well in the market right now is the Sportsstuff Bandwagon from Kwik Tek. Designed with a sturdy body and innovative seating arrangement, this toy offers a super fun water experience close to that of sailing on a boat.
In the Sportsstuff Bandwagon towable review, you’ll find out all about the product’s design features, performance, usability, and lifespan among many other things.
Here are the finer details you may need to know about the Sportstuff Bandwagon:
Material
The Sportsstuff Bandwagon towable is primarily made of a heavy-gauge PVC bladder and a double-stitched (partial) nylon cover. That makes its construction sturdy and more durable than most softshell towable out there. That means a genuine value is guaranteed regarding performance and durability.
Design
This fun toy comes with a sturdy design that gives you the same sensation of a speedboat. It’s equipped with an individual seating area, which features 4 rider chairs that are completely separated from each other.
It comes with such spacious space that you can enjoy your ride without worrying about headbanging, which happens quite often with many towables in the market.
The Bandwagon also features high-backed recumbent mesh seating and foam seat bumpers to ensure you stay in place when riding fast. For even extra comfort and safety, the towable comes with webbed foam handles and knuckle guards.
Reduced Drag
What I like about the Bandwagon is that it comes with a dragless nose design that not only allows you to tow it easily but also eliminates nose diving or prevents you from being dragged underneath at startup.
Whether you choose to take the front or back position (seated or standing), you are sure of not being tossed around during any time of the ride.
In any case, the crew towing the vessel is always required to be on the lookout to ensure it doesn’t throw people around, regardless of the position they choose to ride in.
Ease of Use
The question of convenience of setup and ease of use is what bothers most customers who are planning to use towable for the first time. But with the Bandwagon, even the most novice user doesn’t need to worry about this at all.
Once you’ve gotten towable out of the box, all you need to do is use an electric pump to inflate it, and you can throw it on the water straight away.
However, you should always check whether or not it’s pumped properly by feeling its sturdiness using your fingers.
Deflating this toy is as easy as inflating it, and the process takes just about 5 minutes or so. With the Bandwagon’s heavy-duty design, it will serve you for a couple of years before you think of replacing it with another one.
You can even decide to hit the beach every single weekend without worrying about wear and tear.
How Many Can People Ride The Bandwagon?
As with many other towables, the Bandwagon offers a maximum rider capacity of 4 people. The riders can be children, adults, or whoever wants to enjoy!
You can literally get aboard this water toy with whomever you wish your kids, partner, siblings, or friends- for a leisurely cruise or a thrilling tow at the beach.
And if you’re planning to go on a solo ride, then you can do it without worry as the Sportsstuff Bandwagon is sturdy and unflappable.
What’s The Weight Limit?
The Sportsstuff Bandwagon can carry up to 4 people of different ages and sizes. However, the weight of the people aboard this towable, at any given time, should not exceed 680 pounds. You can influence the riding dynamics by shifting your weight either by standing or lying, but that should always be done under supervision.
How to Maintain the Sportsstuff
Just like any other product out there, the durability of the Sportstuff Bandwagon will mainly depend on how you handle it, right from inflating and deflating to carrying it all through to storage.
Before launching this towable onto the water, always ensure it is FULLY pumped and sturdy. And when you get out of the water, be sure to deflate it before transporting it.
Always avoid dragging the towable on sand or any other rough surface, for the obvious reasons of wear and tear as well as the danger of puncturing it.
When it comes to storage, always put the towable in a place that’s free of sharp objects and exposure to fire. If you follow these suggestions, you can be sure your towable will last for years to come.
Who’s The Sportsstuff Bandwagon For?
The Sportsstuff towable is for anyone, regardless of their age and size, who wants to enjoy a comfortable boat tow or a thrilling speedboat-like ride, either at the beach or any other water body.
Whether you’re a kid aged 6, a 16-year-old teen, or an adult that have one thing in mind: have fun, the Sportstuff Bandwagon floating adventure will definitely meet your expectation!
Should You Buy The Sportsstuff Bandwagon?
Judging by its fantastic performance, superb durability, and excellent market rating (4 out of 5 stars), you definitely should give the Sportsstuff a try. The towable not only comes with a sturdy design and comfortable seating but also boasts a number of safety features that make it an ideal choice for all types of riders, especially younger kids.

It looks like the sportsstuff bandwagon towable is a fun toy, although maybe not so easy to handle outside the water. How much does it weigh? Is the electrical pump part of the package? I am not sure, but is the dependency on a towing boat a determining factor? In case of an unfortunate accident, can the bandwagon be easily repaired if punctured or even torn apart?
Hi Jerry,
Yes, it’s a fun toy, and the only inconvenient with it is that it’s a bit heavy to carry especially when it’s wet. As I mentioned in the article, it weighs 59 pounds. The pump is not included in the package; you will have to buy it separately. Since this towable is quite large and heavy, it can only be pulled by a boat unless you prefer a slower ride, then a pontoon will be fine. Yes, you can repair any towable, and I will be writing a towable repair guide very soon. So stay tuned!
Thank you for the comment and I wish you a fantastic day!
The Sportsstuff Bandwagon looks really cool and is definitely something one would enjoy on the beach on a summers day.
Great YouTube Video showing how fast it can travel. How much does it weigh?
The safety measures are important, especially on something like this so it’s good that it was included in your post along with the Pros & Cons.
I like the layout of your website and you’ve structured your content really well, including the Specification of the product.
Good Job 🙂
Hi Steven,
Indeed, the Sportsstuf is a fun towable that you can certainly enjoy on the beach or on lake.
This towable weighs 59 pounds, which is quite heavy, but worth the ride:)
I am glad you found this article useful!
Thank you for the comment and wish you a lovely day!
Living on a beach and always into water sports, this is the PERFECT water “toy”. I love it! I like that it holds 4 people and shoot, not really that heavy when you consider you are going to have several people around to help get it in and out. Would you leave it inflated all the time, meaning is it a hassle to deflate and inflate? Time consuming?
Hi Matt,
Indeed, it’s the perfect toy to enjoy on the water. To answer your question, I would not leave the Bandwagon inflated all the time. When you finished to use it, you should deflate it and store so it to protect it. Nothing is time-consuming when you know you are going to enjoy:) I mean, it is really worth it!
Thank you for the comment and wish you a wonderful day!
wow! this The Sportsstuff Bandwagon towable looks awesome!! We spend a lot of time up at our friends cottage and are always out on the boat with our dogs, these towables are a great way to have fun on be also have an extension of your boat because you are often on the boat for majority of the day and its a relatively small space, it’s nice for the kids to be able to swim off the boat and have some privacy with their friends. Do you know if this is able to sit well on the boat for travel from Cottage to the boat launch? I’m just thinking about space on the boat or is it really preferred for those that can just drive straight from their dock? Hope that makes sense!
Hi Lyndsay,
The Sportsstuff Bandwagon is a wonderful water toy both for children and adults:) It can sit well on the boat once inflated if there aren’t any objects that can pierce the towable. It would be preferable though to deflate it after any use:) As for the place, it is quite heavy and bulky, so yes, take into consideration that it takes place on the boat!
I hope it helped. Please, if you need more info, don’t hesitate to contact me, I’ll be more than happy to assist!
Thank you for the comment and wish you a lovely day.
